When I first saw the title of the video, and realized that someone attempted to sing this song with only an acoustic guitar to back him up, I thought it was going to go into the humor section. I was shocked to hear this guy belt out a killer falsetto and totally nail an acoustic version of I Don’t Feel Like Dancin’ by the Scissor Sisters! He was either born with this voice or his girl kicked him in the nuts right before he made this recording.

Hiphopopotamus vs. Rhymenoceros! This acoustic comedy team known as the Flight Of the Conchords do an acoustic rap battle. They refer to it as their gangsta folk crossover. When you’re finished cracking up from listening to this wacky duo, look them up. There’s quite a few acoustic comedy clips available from these guys, such as Albi The Racist Dragon, The Humans Are Dead, and lots more!

Remember Ryan Star from the Rock Star: Supernova? Well, this is him doing an acoustic cover of Nine Inch Nails’ Head Like A Hole. There seems to be quite a few NIN fans who didn’t seem to warm up to it, but I thought it was pretty cool. The guy has a great voice and he didn’t really stray from the melody too much. Maybe  if those NIN followers had never heard the original song before, they might feel a bit different about hearing Ryan Star do his acoustic rendition of it. Obviously, it’s a bit raw sounding since it’s just one acoustic guitar, but for me, that’s what’s cool about it.

There’s something hypnotizing about this performance. Amy Winehouse has a natural ability to capture your attention, and it’s even more mesmerizing to watch her do this show, as she appears to have just left rehab on a day pass to do an acoustic version of her hit for the fans. Her voice sounds spectacular and shows she is a real talent, even without a CD production. This girl rocks!
