This kid pleases an unsuspecting crowd with an acoustic version of Usher’s RnB hit, Yeah! Using a loop pedal, he sets the rhythm with a few layer parts to get the beat going and as soon as he starts busting out the lyrics, the crowd goes wild! It seemed like he almost cracked up laughing but he has obviously well rehearsed and kep the song going well. Great job on the song, and good for a giggle or two as well.

You have to give anybody credit just for attempting to pull off a cover of Amy Lee’s vocals (from Evanescence) and this girl deserves a round of applause for an excellent job. She doesn’t try to copy Amy, and has her sound nicely wrapped into a cool acoustic version of My Immortal. There are a couple mistakes in the lyrics for you picky types, but she posted that she was aware of a few rough spots and is pretty humble about her talent. I thought it was fantastic overall and looking forward to more from her!

Wow! If you’re learning to play this style of music on the acoustic guitar, then this video should definitely be an inspiration. It’s a cover version of Bon Jovi’s Livin’ On A Prayer, and the vocal melodies are all here, but without a singer! The guy plays it all on his guitar on top of the rhythm. You’ll see what I mean when you press play. I can only hope to be able to play something like this someday. Maybe if I watch enough of these acoustic guitar videos, slowed down, frame by frame, it could happen.

What’s cooler than cool? ICE COLD! This bearded dude ( Mat Weddle of Obadiah Parker ), doing an acoustic version of Outkast’s Hey Ya, is a perfect example of an artist doing a cover of a popular song their way and creating something special. Not only does he do a great job at making this song his own, but he’s bang on with Andre 3000’s craziness when he spits out about 15 “all rights” that seem to flow in perfect time with the original version. You can see what I mean throughout the clip as the original version of the Hey Ya video has been edited to fade in out of his acoustic performance.

If you want to play it yourself, you can watch another guy’s version with a close up of the chords and an easy Hey Ya tab.
