Say what you will about Dave Matthews, but it’s nice to see an A-list musician with a sense of humor about himself. He even acknowledges the not-so-small demographic who thinks his face is stupid and wants to throw up in their hands when his voice comes on the radio. One wonders how Jason Mraz took this – after all, it’s easier for Dave to poke fun at himself seeing as he actually has some, you know, talent. As for Jack Johnson, well, everybody has their own opinion about Jack Johnson. And you can just imagine Ozzy’s reaction: “Odd.. I don’t remember doing this.. really gotta stop with those pills.”

This kid pleases an unsuspecting crowd with an acoustic version of Usher’s R and B hit, Yeah! Using a loop pedal, he sets the rhythm with a few layer parts to get the beat going and as soon as he starts busting out the lyrics, the crowd goes wild! It seemed like he almost cracked up laughing but he has obviously well rehearsed and kept the song going well. Great job on the song, and good for a giggle or two as well.

It’s not uncommon to see two people play a duet on a single piano, but that kind of collaboration is a bit more unusual on a guitar. It’s not impossible, though – take a look at Antoine Dufour and his goofily grinning buddy. The song is Jerry’s Breakdown by Jerry Reed, and novelty aside, it’s an impressive rendition.

Dufour’s is a pretty popular video, and you may have seen it already. You’re less likely, however, to have seen this stirring response by a guy calling himself “dwgACOUSTIC.” The piece is entitled Black Sunday, and though it initially sounds a bit like The Beatles’ Dear Prudence, it actually turns out to be quite different.

Fast food…we all know that it’s bad for us, but sometimes we just don’t have time to grab anything else. Cooking a meal or ordering a pizza takes too long, the grocery store is always crowded, and we just need to eat quickly and get on with our lives.

So instead of just shouting menu items at the speaker like everyone else, why not make things a bit more interesting by performing a live acoustic guitar song about your order? That’s exactly what these guys did at the Taco Bell drive thru. We can’t decide which is more impressive…the song itself, or the fact that the unsuspecting employee repeats the order back perfectly!

Well, not an acoustic version that Pachelbel would be likely to approve of. Listen to cellist turned acoustic guitarist/comedian Rob Paravonian rant about how much he hates arguably the most recognizable – and definitely the most repetitive – classical piece of all time. Paravonian’s theory about Canon’s cello part has sent musicologists of 17th century Germany on a frantic search for further evidence of poor Johann’s heartbreak at the hands of a femme fatale cellist.
